Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Jagadhri, Haryana, is run by the congregation
of the Sisters of the Destitute.

Our congregation was founded by Servant of God, Father Varghese Payyappilly
        in 1927.

He was the manager of St. Mary’s School, the most renowned institution in Kerala
for 12 years. He was moved by the compassionated love of Jesus and gave a marvelous
contribution to the field of education.

The deep vision and mission of Rt. Rev. Msgr George Valliarumpath our Director
compelled him to start an English Medium school in the twin town of Yamuna Nagar
and Jagadhri. The people were craving for an English Medium School to educate their
children, to build up a bright and sound future for them.

Sacred Heart Convent Sr. Sec. School, Jagadhri was established in 1966 and it was the first English
Medium School in these two towns. I, Sister Annunciata was appointed as the Founder
Principal of this institution. With a heart brimming, joy and gratitude i offer
my heart felt thanks to God the Almighty for making this tiny plant grow to a huge
tree. He made this tree grow with numerous fruits.

The initial hardship of ten years in a rented building made it ever stronger and
deep-rooted, flourishing and sprouting around. This institution was affiliated to
        CBSE in the year 1972.
